A prenuptial agreement may make separation for Arnold Schwarzenegger expensive.

The former governor is expected to divorce Maria Shiver, in what some argue to be one of the most costly divorces in the history of Hollywood.

According to California State Law, all property is shared among spouses. However the couple’s 1986 prenuptial agreement may still be in effect, which could leave Shiver with a significant divorce settlement.

Due to their time together, the agreement could also have expired; meaning State Law would dictate the terms of the settlement.

If taken to court, Schwarzenegger may face additional losses as child support expenses and other issues are taken under consideration.

Estimates for the possible record-setting divorce are speculated to range anywhere from 200 million to 400 million, depending on the terms of the separation.
